How to make Glitter Champagne Flutes

December 29, 2015

Connecticut in Style Glitter FlutesThese gorgeous glitter champagne flutes add instant glam to your New Year’s Eve Party! Here is a quick and super easy do-it-yourself project to make your New Year’s Eve celebration more festive. Using plastic or glass champagne flutes, simply spray them with spray adhesive and shake fine gold glitter on them. It took me less than 5 minutes to glam up one of these glasses!

You’ll need:

  • Plastic champagne flutes (found at a party store like Party City). You can use real glass too, after the party wash the glasses with really hot water to dissolve the adhesive and wash away the glitter.
  • Spray-on adhesive
  • Fine gold glitter (found at a craft store like Michael’s

Before you begin, I recommend that you wash and thoroughly dry the champagne flutes before adding the glitter. Have all your materials ready, the adhesive dries quickly! Follow the instructions on the spray adhesive can, you can use disposable gloves and a mask, and always make sure you are in a well ventilated area. Spray the adhesive where you want the glitter to stick. I wanted the glitter less concentrated on the bottom near the stem, so I sprayed the adhesive lightly in a few spots and immediately shook glitter on it. As I worked my way up the flute, I sprayed adhesive all over the top of the flute and shook more glitter on it. Tip: Once I was satisfied with the distribution of glitter, I sprayed the entire flute to seal the glitter – this prevents the glitter from coming off on your lips. Below are the step-by-step instructions and photos.
