The Best Peep-Toe Ankle Booties – Sarah O’Brien Connecticut in Style Blog
I keep tabs on what interior designers wear. I can imagine that their sense of design is transferable to their sense of fashion. While I was on the Near & Far Aid Designer Home Tour last week, I toured six beautiful homes – all of which were staffed by the interior designer and her or his team of equally talented and uber gorgeous design assistants. Picture this: tall and slim with long silky hair and glossy lips – you know the type. I did a quick fashion scan, starting at the top and ending with the most important part. The kicks. The shoe du jour were peep-toe ankle booties. And it made sense to wear a trans-seasonal shoe. It is too warm for ankle booties and too cold for sandals, so this is the perfect shoe to wear now. In fact, it just wasn’t what the designers were wearing – the guests that were touring the homes were wearing them too.
Lots of celebrities, including a few of my fashion icons, such as Olivia Palermo, have been wearing them for years, and they don’t seem to have lost their appeal. I have a couple pairs in dark brown and they are as comfortable as can be. I like to pair them with a slim pant, a tailored blouse or anything with a skirt. Add some glitz with a jeweled necklace and you are good to go. Here is a roundup of a few of my favs.
