Yahoo! Tonight’s book club and I can’t wait to see everyone. We usually meet at someone’s home, but in July or August we love to meet at the beach. Everyone will bring food and wine to share and we’ll make a large circle with our beach chairs and spend most of the time chatting and catching up and part of the time discussing the book pick of the month. The last book that we read was Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, it is a #1 New York Times Best Seller about a young woman who is “aging out” of the foster care system and the unexpected friendship she develops with an elderly woman who was also orphaned at a young age. Click here to read NPR’s review of this book and a part of American history that I had no idea about.
I thought I would share some books that are on my summer reading list, some of them I have already read (All the Light We Cannot See and The Girl on the Train). Most of them are on the New York Times Best Seller list and it is a mix of mystery, sci-fi, history and humor. Although I know that I will not be able to read them all in the next couple of months, I do have my preferences already sorted out. The Rumor, The Martian, then Modern Romance (by Aziz Ansari one of my favorite characters in Parks and Rec) and it sounds hilarious (-:
My top nine picks: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9
Happy reading! xo, Sarah
