Perhaps there is no greater time of year than Christmas to continue old traditions. Baking cookies and making gingerbread houses are some of my treasured holiday traditions. Every year I challenge myself to experiment with a new design or style. I’ve been on a “gold spray painting kick” recently, see here for my Thanksgiving Tablescape where I spray painted leaves to create a glittering effect. The spray painting didn’t stop at food. I used Wilton’s Gold Color Mist spray and decided to try it on sugar cookies in preparation for a cookie swap. I made my standard sugar cookie recipe, iced them with royal icing and then lightly sprayed them with the color mist. I added pearl dragees for that final bit of glam to make the cookie shimmer. Here are the step by step photos, happy baking!
