CT in Style – Spotlight on Connecticut Architects
Today, we’re going on a virtual tour of a beautiful Greenwich, CT home designed by Connecticut Architect Douglas VanderHorn. I absolutely love the look of this newly built waterfront home that reminds me of traditional New England homes with the classic shingles and stone exterior. Situated in Mead Point, an exclusive waterfront community on the Greenwich coastline, this neighborhood has two bodies of water – Indian Harbor on one side and Cos Cob Harbor on the other side. The neighborhood’s private entrance is on Indian Field Road and boasts immaculately landscaped grounds, quiet streets that are ideal for walking or bicycling, and of course, an idyllic beach at the end of the road. The interior of the home is inspired by all the blues of a coastal home, the sea and the sky. The exterior reminds me of a washed out sea blue that compliments the glimpses of the water as you approached the main entrance. In the interior, pops of blue can be found throughout the home especially in the butler’s pantry that is so gorgeous with its high gloss lacquered walls, it is such a refreshing departure from the expected.
