WooHoo! It’s July 12th everyone. One of fashion-lovers most anticipated days of the year. Why? It’s Sale Time! Shop my picks from the Annual Nordstrom Sale.
For those of us who obsess over the latest fashion, this time of year makes us giddy. Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale started TODAY for card holders. If you don’t have a Nordstrom Card, you can inquire about getting one HERE. If you don’t want a Nordstrom Card, you can wait until July 20th for the sale that is open to the public. Simply bookmark this blog post, and come back to it to shop for your items!
One of the many reasons that I love Nordstrom is because it is the best place for one-stop-shopping. I always feel confident when making a purchase because I trust that the clothes, shoes and accessories have been carefully curated. Another reason I love shopping at Nordstrom is because of how interactive their customers are. The people who shop at Nordstrom are seriously into their clothes and they love reporting back about them. So, if you are someone that loves reading reviews before you “Add to cart” you’ll get a lot of them. And lastly, free shipping and free returns ALL. THE. TIME.
I’ve blogged about this sale before, but I am especially excited about it this year because I really need new clothes. On Sunday, I spent almost the entire day sorting through my closets. I started at 10am and didn’t stop until 5:00pm. I was relentless and ruthless – two qualities that you must possess if you really want to free yourself of all your unworn clothes. I have not had the emotional ability to “let go” of my clothes – until now. How did I finally get there? I did four things:
- I read (most) of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
- I ordered a thredUP bag (more about this below).
- I helped my sister get rid of 80% of her clothes, shoes and accessories.
- I waited until the disgust of seeing my closets bulging became greater than my desire to hang on to a hideous neon yellow sweater that I had worn once.
Once I got started, I was pleasantly surprised at how easily and painless it was to pull clothes off their hanger and toss them into the garage bag. Another surprise was how quickly I could make a decision about an item of clothing. I don’t think I ever held anything up and hesitated about whether or not I should keep it. It was either in the garbage bag or back in the closet within 5 seconds. Ruthless.
My unwanted clothes fell into three categories:
- thredUp – clothes that meet the requirements
- Donate – Clothes that were in good condition, but no longer wanted
- Garbage – clothes that no one should be seen in, or had a small tear, stain, or fell into the “intimate” category (underwear, socks, pjs, swim wear, robes, etc.)
If you follow my Instagram Stories, you might have seen the thredUP bag filled with clothes that I didn’t want anymore. But, in addition to that bag (which was sent to thredUP on Monday) I amassed seven garage bags full of clothes. Seven! They were all donated on Monday and I swear I felt lighter and happier as I drove away from the donation center.
When I came home, my closet was significantly pared down. And in a good way. What I was left with were clothes that I really love. The ones left standing were the chosen ones and it felt so good to have a closet filled with items that I love and nothing that I felt “eh” about.
“My closet felt tailored in more ways than one.”

I’m not sure about you, but I am so ready to freshen up my wardrobe. Let’s do this.
Zella Lab Dress on sale for $45.90
Obsessed with this athleisure dress. It’s in my shopping cart right now. Do yourself a favor and click on the link and check it out. I LOVE the back of this dress!
Nadri Medium Inside Out Hoop Earrings
I am fussy about my faux pave earrings. They have to be ultra-slim and have stones on the inside so you can see them at any angle. They come in gold, rose gold or silver metal tone.
Caslon Faux Wrap Cotton Top $39.90
Lots of texture make this top interesting. I like how long it is in the back because you can wear it with leggings and cover your tush. Comes in three colors.
Vince Camuto Camouflage Print Tee $31.90
Just a fun camo tee to wear with white jeans this summer.
PAIGE Hoxton High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans
Want longer looking legs? Go for high-waisted pants. Styled with a leg-lengthening high waist and clean indigo wash, these ankle-grazing skinnies go with everything and transition easily from day to night.
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Platform Sneaker $46.90
The classic in a platform height. Can’t decide which color I like more.
Julia Jordan Tie-Neck Halter Jumpsuit
I feel like any woman between the ages of 25 to 65 can wear this jumpsuit. Halter necks are my favorite because they are flattering on everyone regardless of size. This is one of those classic styles that will be relevant and wearable for years to come. Comes in Navy and Burgundy.
Adidas Edge Lux Clima Running Shoe $63.90
I have to admit that I have never been a sneaker person. When I started my floral design studio, I quickly realized that I needed to wear really comfortable, breathable, light weight shoes with cushioning. Sneakers became my new best friend and thankfully, Adidas makes them look good.
I hope you liked my picks!
