The Georgian-style brick home sits on top of a hill that overlooks the Kanawha Canal and James River – and combines beauty and function designed for a family who takes their celebrating seriously. The interior by Janie Molster, a Richmond interior designer, is both modern and traditional in a new way. The home marries the formal style associated with Richmond’s architectural heritage – think sumptuous fabrics like velvet and silk – with recent pieces of lucite and leather. I love how they have used ribbons to adorn elements in each of the rooms that picks up the same color scheme in the space, so clever.
