I love November in Connecticut! This weekend, Rooms With A View, a high-end designer showcase, will be open to the public. Many of my Connecticut readers know that Rooms with a View was created by late Dean of American Design, Albert Hadley. Rooms with a View celebrated its 22nd anniversary last year and even though it’s over, I’m taking you on a virtual tour of each of the spaces so you can see how gorgeous so many of these rooms were. This year’s theme is Joy to the World, and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store! For tickets, click HERE. They are only $25 each and provide you with so much access to interior design inspiration.
For those of you who are not familiar with Rooms with a View, it is a weekend of design inspiration featuring 12 vignettes of interior design. In addition to the vignettes, the event has many individual shops that sell accessories, jewelry, clothing, art work, beauty products, home furnishings and elements – just to name a few. There are also special events such as the Opening Night Gala, a champagne tour and dinner by Paci (one of my favorite restaurants) and Gingerbread House Decorating for children and adults. It is a fun-filled weekend with so much to see and do. If you weren’t able to attend last year, I hope that you’ll plan on attending this weekend. It is the perfect venue for a play date with your girlfriends, lots of pretty rooms, shopping and lunch.
Rooms With a View 2016
Even if you don’t live in Connecticut or New York, this blog post is for any interior design enthusiast. Rooms with a View tasks twelve interior designers with converting a 6′ by 8′ room into a cozy space that depicts this year’s theme, Comfort and Joy. As you look through each of the images, you will quickly see that every room is very different from the next. Today, I’ve included the wide angle views of each of the rooms.

Rooms With a View 2015
I’ve attended the event many times as a guest, and this is the second year that I’ve covered the event professionally for my blog. Last year, I split the event into three separate blog posts and I’ve included links to last year’s Rooms with a View below. Last year’s theme was “Home for the Holidays” and you will get some great ideas for dressing up your home this holiday season. Guys, I usually don’t push for you to read previous posts, but, if you have a few more extra minutes they are well worth the time to see the vignettes from last year. The rooms had lots of color, they were all so vibrant – each one looked like a jewel box!
