Patio – Connecticut in Style Lifestyle Blog – Sarah O’Brien
I feel like a bear emerging from hibernation. After the longest and coldest New England winter I can remember, I’ve been immersing myself in warm and sunny weather for the past 4 weeks – and it has re-energized me. I’ve been completely happy outside spending time scrutinizing the landscaping, removing leaves that were trapped under bushes, priming the grill and cleaning our outdoor dining furniture in preparation for summer entertaining. I’m especially motivated to tackle our outdoor entertaining area because of a very pretty patio that I saw on Friday during the Near & Far AID Designer House Tour in Connecticut. Interior designer, Parker Rogers of Parker & Company Interior Design did a fantastic job styling both the home and the outdoor space. The furniture was accented with vivid chartreuse and coral pillows that practically shouted “spring” and the pops of color made everything feel bright. One of the highlights of the home is that it is located only a block from Southport Harbor, in Southport, CT. You could feel the afternoon breeze coming up from the water which I know makes for cool evenings, perfect for sitting around a firepit. I can totally picture the homeowners out here hosting a summer dinner party, so fun!
