I picked up this fun, colorful Hatley dress for a steal during our mini-vacay at Lake George and wanted to share two different ways to style it. How I happened upon this dress was pure luck! My family and I were staying at the Sagamore Resort, located in the town of Bolton Landing, NY. After breakfast one morning we took a stroll on Bolton Landing’s very short main street and noticed that one of the clothing stores was having a sidewalk sale for Labor Day. There were so many adorable summer dresses to choose from, but with the help of my husband, this one came home with me.
The moment I tried it on, I loved how it felt. The fabric is so soft and cool and it is easily one of the most comfortable dresses that I own. I know that I am going to get a lot of mileage out of it and I started to think about how many different ways I could style it. I want to maximize wearing it, but avoid Groundhog Day (the movie). There are lots of ways to wear this dress, including adding a blue jacket to give it a business casual look or tying a sweater around your neck for a lunch date. Today, I styled it with basic white flats for an everyday look and kicked it up a notch by wearing it with red heels for an evening out.
One Dress, Two Ways
Style 1 – The blue and reddish-pink stripes with white flats, a white clutch and earrings make the colors really pop.
Style 2 – Red heels, a navy blue bucket bag and red and blue bangles elevate the dress for date night.
