One of the very best parts of getting my BIRCHBOX in the mail is the anticipation of what the outside of the box will look like. They continue to enchant me every month with fabulous packaging! This month, the BIRCHBOX is exquisitely marbled with pink and white and it immediately reminded me of the stationery shops in Venice that carry handcrafted marbled paper.
As I am sure you can guess, the pink theme for October is because it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. It is all about “thinking pink” to raise awareness and money to fund breast cancer research. Breast cancer affects an alarming 1 out of 8 women which means that everyone knows someone who has been impacted by this disease. Raising awareness can result in many different ways from inspiring someone to contribute to the cause, to participating in a fundraiser to learning about the importance of examining your breasts. Here is a link to the National Breast Cancer Organization’s How To Perform a Breast Self-Exam.

This month, I’ve been LOVED! The box contains a sample of LOVE shampoo & conditioner, Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate, Stila HUGE mascara, Pearl Bay Invasion Shimmering Base/Highlighter and English Laundry fragrance.
One of the main ingredients in these hair products is Olive Oil. Boy of boy does it do wonders for my frizzy hair! Plus, I think that I should use anything that says LOVE on it.
Okay, my face felt really silky after applying. What’s in this stuff? I was curious about the reviews and happy to see that it gets 4 Stars and over 5,000 “loves” from Sephora people. That’s a lot of beautiful faces.
Sorry, didn’t love this mascara. It was too clumpy for daytime. But I will hang on to it and pull it out when I want to do really dramatic eyes one evening.
This gave my skin a little shimmer! It wasn’t too obvious, which I like. Just enough to capture a little glow that keeps people guessing.
If you follow my blog, you know how I am about perfume – I am VERY particular. The party line on this is ‘Long known for his line of men’s scents, Christopher Wicks of English Laundry tweaked his No. 7 blend just for the ladies. Bright and fruity, the result is both flirty and fun, grounded with alluring hints of masculine musk.’ Personally, I lean towards fresh, clean and citrus and because this contains musk – I’m not loving it. Again, fragrance is a very personal thing – if you like musk then you’ll love this.
