New Year’s Eve Outfit Ideas

December 30, 2015

Black Fringe Bottom Dress and Shoes and BR logo in BW

My husband does really well when it comes to buying gifts for me. He always seems to have a handle on what’s on my lust list. However, if he’s ever stumped, he has a fail-safe backup plan that he knows that I will always love: a gift certificate to Banana Republic. But, as I tell everyone – it is actually three gifts in one:

1. I get some new clothes (score!)

2. I get some retail therapy (ahh!)

3. I get some Mommy time (nice!)

In my first post in this week-long series devoted to A Chic New Year’s Eve Party, I promised to include fun and flirty fashion ideas. Banana Republic is a place I count on for fashion forward clothes and great personalized service. I went to the BR in the Westfield Mall in Trumbull, Connecticut with a party outfit on my mind. When I arrived, I noticed right away that they are having a sale, yippee! I headed straight for the “dressy” section and had a blast trying on clothes. I found crepe, chiffon, leather and a lot of the pieces had a “Great Gatsby” vibe that I adore. One of the features that I gravitate to, especially for party attire, is anything with fringes. Clothes that twirl and glitter are simply meant to be worn to a party! I found a great selection of clothes that combined beautifully and was able to mix and match several pieces until I found some styles that suited me. I added some chunky jewelry to polish it off and amp up the bling factor. I wanted to share the photos from my “dress up day” at Banana Republic and links to the items that I need in my closet.

First, I wanted to start by showing you how I took the photos. I obviously don’t travel with a photographer which means that one of my arms is typically missing in all the photos. I did snag Jennifer, the BR Store General Manager, to snap a few of me so that you could see how the clothes draped.Sarah with camera 1
