I’m getting a jump on summer by adding sun kissed highlights to my hair. Even though summer doesn’t officially start for a couple more weeks, I wanted to walk into June 21 like I owned it. And, June 21 falls on a Wednesday (hump day) so it needed some badassery anyway.

And for all you die hard sun worshippers, don’t hold your breath for the natural method. The only way anyone is getting sun-kissed hair is by getting it from a bottle. I have never seen this much rain for such a long period of time.

Even if the sun ever decides to come out, I can usually be found with a huge hat on AND under an umbrella. I stopped tanning a long time ago when I really began to appreciate how damaging it is to my skin. To get a summer glow, I turned to self-tanning creams a few years ago and I totally recommend Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer. They make one for the face and one for the body. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t leave a trace of orange, but it does take several hours for the color to develop. If you want instant bronze, I like Clinique’s Bronzing Gel.

My New Sun Kissed Hair
