My Favorite Spring Flower
In 20 days, it will be spring! I thoroughly enjoy every season, but start getting a little stir crazy when we are in month four of the same weather. Are you with me on this? I start feeling blah because I am bored with the season and then I get restless because I know that there’s nothing I can do about this phase we are in. They say that March comes in like a lion. So, it’s rainy, cold and very windy. As much as I want to get my hands into the garden, I have to wait.
I’m trying to heal my spring fever in different ways. I blogged earlier this week about how transformative lavender linen spray can be for helping your home smell like summer. Another excellent cure for winter blah is flowers! There’s nothing like a beautiful arrangement of flowers to cheer up any room, especially flowers that are known for ushering in a new season.
Yesterday, I walked into Trader Joe’s only to be greeted by smiling buckets of my favorite spring flower, tulips. There were so many pretty colors to choose from. In the end, several bunches of light pink tulips came home with me and they instantly brightened up our bedroom.
Millions (literally) of tulips are blooming all across Holland right now and they have started making their way to the U.S. and other parts of the world. I came across this amazing aerial view of a tulip field that I had to share!

What do Standard, Parrot, Double Bloom and Fringe have in common? They are different varieties of tulips and I have included a helpful chart below from Flower Muse. Happy March!
