From Connecticut to the Bahamas, Miles Redd travels miles and miles to design some of the most gorgeous and exciting interiors. Named as one of Architectural Digest’s Top 100 Designers in 2014, Miles Redd embraces vivid colors and vibrant patterns like nobody’s business. Miles Redd is the former creative director or Oscar de la Renta Home and author of The Big Book of Chic. The Atlanta-born, New York–based designer says “I like interiors that are rich and layered and personal, and I like disparate things next to each other—something crumbling next to something slick, contemporary art and 18th-century furniture, and always a mix of high and low.” He has been featured in Architectural Digest several times and I was curious about his approach to styling homes on different coasts. The first set of photos is of a family vacation beach home in Lyford Cay, Bahamas (click on the links to read both articles on his approach to designing the interiors of these homes, it is great reading if you are addicted to interior design) the second home is in Greenwich, Connecticut. I think that these rooms are so exhilarating and full of life! Regardless of the location he is designing in, he is most certainly not afraid of color – as someone so aptly said about Miles Redd “Beige is like Kryptonite to him.”
