CT IN STYLE EXCLUSIVE – RECEIVE A 15% DISCOUNT ON GIFT WRAPPING PAPER!
One of the many things that I look forward to during the Holiday Season is gift wrapping. I tribute my mother for turning me on to wrapping packages stylishly, some of the prettiest gifts that were almost too beautiful to open have been from her. Since then, I got “the bug” to wrap gifts beautifully and I haven’t looked back. While there are many wonderful choices for wrapping paper, I like to elevate it a bit. I wanted the wrapping for this gift to be feminine and glamorous – so I was searching for gold, cream and pink elements.
I’m obsessed with gold polka dots and found the perfect paper through Paper Mojo. Paper Mojo is owned and operated by a mother and daughter team, Shelly Gardner-Alley and Megan Alley (clearly the love of paper gets passed down in their family too). Since 2003, their mission has been to provide the largest and finest decorative paper to individuals that share a passion for transforming things to the extraordinary. I wanted to share with you my tips on how to wrap a gift beautifully and to get you even more inspired, I’m thrilled to offer my readers an exclusive discount, thanks to the generous folks at Paper Mojo. Click here to go to their website and browse their amazing selection of paper and use discount code ctinstyle15 to save 15% off store wide now through December 31st. Thank you to Paper Mojo for sponsoring this post, Happy Shopping!
{I wanted to the wrapping to be pink and gold, so I used some coordinating gift tags and a silk poinsettia found at Jo-Ann Fabrics}
{the inside of the box should look pretty too, I used gold tissue paper with a scalloped edge}
{perfect for the cooler weather, this plaid scarf is from Millie Rae’s in Westport, CT}
{the gorgeous hand crafted paper from Paper Mojo is the star}
{place the box on the reverse side of the paper and center it evenly}
{tape each side of the box to help the paper stay flat}
{pull the paper taut to create a smooth edge}
{fold a small seam in the paper to create a finished edge}
{make a sharp crease in each corner}
{the ends of the box should look like this}
{for a 12″ square box you will need about 10 feet of ribbon, this box was 2″ deep, you will need more ribbon for deeper boxes}
{for this package, I made a simple knot because the silk poinsettia takes the place of the bow}
{I flipped over the silk poinsettia and threaded the ribbon through the back stems}
{I tied the gift tag around the top part of the poinsettia}
About Paper Mojo: Although it may be perfectly obvious, Paper Mojo is owned and staffed by women who love paper … addicted really. The opening of any shipment containing new styles is guaranteed to have all our full attention and the sound of oohs and aahs. Our goal is to pass this experience on to our customers so that the arrival of each Paper Mojo order creates the same sense of satisfaction.
Our mission is to provide the largest and finest decorative paper to designers, artists and paper enthusiasts, while supporting the creative processes of the paper makers. We tend to work with and sell to small businesses and individuals. In our paper line, we like to favor those suppliers who have a commitment to supporting fair trade and environmental responsibility.
Paper Mojo was founded in 2003 by the mother and daughter team of Shelly Gardner-Alley and Megan Alley. Shelly’s Internet design and development experience laid the groundwork for the online presence. Over our 11 years of business, we have developed strong relationships with many of the major paper importers and stationary designers, both in the US and overseas, and we are in the unique position to have access to a vast selection of paper. Although it can be difficult deciding which papers we will stock (as true addicts, we would like to have some of everything) a significant part of our business day is often dedicated to assisting designers and business owners to obtain unusual papers beyond our immediate catalog.
