When I am in the mood to “refresh” a room, it is usually because I found something utterly gorgeous. This time, gorgeous was in the way of pillows I found at Home Goods. Specifically, a trio of embroidered pillows that have a Moroccan design. And in true Moroccan form, their colors are incredibly vibrant and cheerful!
Don’t you love walking into a room that envelops you in color? It totally changes my mood and makes me happy. The same goes for when I am in a mostly monochromatic space, I feel relaxed. Have you ever been in a Restoration Hardware showroom? I definitely like their serene and neutral palette for nurseries and bedrooms, but I think that color is needed to breathe life into any home.
How to Quickly and Easily Brighten a Room
Today, I want to share how I quickly pulled together our sunroom from beginning to end with just a few things. I started with pieces I already had in the room; a white sectional from IKEA, two round tables with white tablecloths and glass tops, white ceramic lamps from Klaffs and a rug.
I hit the jackpot at HomeGoods with the following items: Two large white pillows with yarn tassels. I selected these because they are whimsical and I wanted something to keep the space feeling informal. I added the Moroccan pillows and a pink linen bench that doubles as an ottoman. On the bench, I put a tray with a metallic gold pineapple stencil. It’s a perfect place for drinks and a bowl of snacks. Lastly, I added pineapple print on the wall, and pink and white peonies.
Fresh flowers can totally transform a room by making it instantly happy. If you live in Connecticut or want to send fresh flowers to someone that lives in Connecticut, check out my floral design studio, fresh flower bar for gorgeous arrangements that are delivered in chic white hat boxes.
What I love about this is that I can change it out in a heartbeat without breaking the bank. All I will need is a new set of pillows, a rug and a bench/ottoman. I hope you enjoy the photos!
Note: Keeping a white couch clean has it challenges, especially with two kiddos. I made sure that the covers were washable and bleach-able before I bought it. They are a total pain to wash, but it has to be done about three times a year. The good news is that I can flip all the pillows to the “clean side” when company is coming over.
