Tonight, I am hosting a wreath making party to benefit the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County and I can hardly wait! Ten women will come to my home with fresh wreaths tucked under their arms and buzzing with holiday happiness. I’ve been hosting these parties for many years, sometimes I even do more than one a year and open it up to friends and neighbors. My dining room gets converted into what resembles Santa’s workshop with two 6 foot-long tables, power strips with hot glue guns, a tool box with miles of wire, wire cutters and pliers. Attendees send me images of the style wreath they want to make and ribbon color (I’m getting a lot of requests for burlap this year) and I hit every craft store until I’ve gathered all the supplies and ribbon needed. I have to confess that shopping is half the fun!
I frequently get asked for holiday wreath ideas, so I started a collection on a Pinterest Board: Wreaths in Style. There are so many beautiful wreaths and swags to choose from and my biggest dilemma is deciding which direction to go this year. Sometimes I feel like I want to go really simple with all natural elements and other times I want to go over the top with colorful shiny ornaments and lots of shimmering ribbon. Here’s a roundup of my favorite wreaths for this season and I’ll post photos of the one(s) I end up making. Enjoy the eye-candy.
