I’m still smiling after the Greenwich WINE+FOOD Festival. It surpassed my expectations on all levels from the size of the crowd (over 5,000 very happy people) to the delicious and never-ending samples of drinks and food that were generously handed out by the hundreds per hour. I have some photos to share, but they don’t do justice to how it felt to be there shoulder to shoulder with people who were having a great time. Smiles were everywhere.
This was an all-day event with many food and beverage vendors pulling out all the stops and serving up the best they had to offer. And after spending a few hours in the main tent picking and choosing what to sample next, my friend and I headed to the Tacos and Tequila tent. I have a weakness for Mexican food and I was not disappointed. The vendors served up mini tacos and I was introduced to a summer cocktail called Hibiscus Margarita. The talented crew from Bodega made batches of it that they dispensed from a glass beverage container. It was so yummy that I wish they handed out straws! I’ve already ordered some dried hibiscus leaves to make my own (and I’ll share the recipe once I’ve perfected it).
As the sun was going down, we headed to the stage area to watch the bands. Little Big Town was awesome to watch! Can’t wait for next year.
