Now, can we talk fur? Faux, to be clear. Dressing in neutrals provides a monochrome look that I really like in the autumn. However, wearing mostly monochrome can look boring and flat unless you combine items that have interest. For this cream and brown outfit, I felt it needed lots of different textures to make each of the pieces have their own place in the spotlight, but still blend harmoniously. This faux fur vest was the inspirational piece for this outfit and I wore it over a long sleeve top with a lace overlay skirt in the same cream color. Simple brown leather boots and pearl accessories finished it.
You may be surprised to learn that I bought this vest at Old Navy! I typically shop at Old Navy for my kid’s clothes. Their prices are really reasonable and the quality is decent. However, the last few times I have been there to shop, I’ve noticed that they are getting quite fashion-forward. More than once, I’ve been adding a couple of items in the cart for me (yaaasss). If you missed it, check out this post I did on another vest that I got at Old Navy for a Preppy Transitional Outfit.
This fur vest is the perfect length and has flecks of cream and brown that tie the neutrals together in a chic way. I can see myself wearing this outfit for Thanksgiving and some holiday luncheons. But, it doesn’t stop there. I can’t wait to dress this vest down with an oversized sweater, leggings and booties! I’ve included a few of the more casual looks at the end of this post. Happy Shopping!
