Happy Friday everyone! Do you feel like January has flown by? I love all the seasons, but I have to be honest and say that I’m happy that this month has gone by so quickly. Because of S.I.N.G.L.E. D.I.G.I.T.S. It’s been a really cold winter.
The cold weather didn’t stop me from fulfilling a dream. I took a 4-day class on floral design in Manhattan at the New York Botanical Garden’s midtown location. The purpose of the class is to teach the fundamentals of the most common floral design forms. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into the classroom on the first day, but I was thrilled to see that it was filled with buckets upon buckets of flowers! The instructor didn’t torture us, he let us play right away and within 30-minutes we were all busy making our first arrangement. So fun!
During the week, Kerry became Mr. Mom (thank you honey) while I commuted to and from the city. I forgot how much fun it is to ride the train and arrive at Grand Central Station. The celestial ceiling, dotted with escaped balloons, is an epitome of New York. As I prepare to exit the relative quiet of the station, my heart flutters a tiny bit. Once you emerge from those doors on 42nd Street, you are instantly plunged into the sounds, sights and smells of the greatest city in the world. It’s total chaos and I love it.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, see you back on Monday xo
