Happy Friday! I love this autumn sunset that a friend posted on Facebook because it reminded me of how important it is to pause. In less than two weeks, we’ll be gathering with friends and family to celebrate Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving or a combination of the two. It’s so easy to get swept up in the business of the season isn’t it? Photos like these help me slow down. Breath. And. Exhale.
There are so many things that I want to do and my decision-making skills resemble those of a squirrel crossing the street. Should my tablescape be rustic and natural or over the top with glitter and glamour? Should I wash and dry all the slip covers now or wait until the day our guests arrive? What are the chances that I can replicate our house entirely in gingerbread…?
Last night, about 100 other PTA Moms and I went to a private screening on Bad Moms 2. It was hilarious, but there was also an important message that weaved throughout the film. And the message was – take back the holidays and make them your own. This will mean different things to all of us, perhaps you will start a new family tradition or make a meal for a homeless shelter. It is all about doing things that make you happy during the season and I took it to heart.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
