Happy Fri-yay! My bags are packed and I’m ready for an adventure that starts today! Can you guys guess where I am going?

That tiny island is Block Island, and six girlfriends and I are going there for the weekend. The last time I went to Block Island was when Kerry and I were still newlyweds, so it’s been awhile. We went with another couple and I remember spending most of the weekend on the back of a moped with my arms around Kerry as he drove us all over the island. Enough time has passed to make it feel like it’s my first visit there and I know that I will go with an entirely new perspective.

As much as I love my family, I need a healthy dose of quality time with my peeps. This is only the second time we have taken a road trip together, but it’s already been dubbed “annual” and I think I know where our destination will be next year. You can get really spoiled living in Connecticut because there are so many vacation spots within 2-4 hours along the East Coast. Last year we went to Newport, Rhode Island and spent an idyllic weekend eating, drinking, and touring the historic mansions.

This year I volunteered to be the “concierge” for this trip and I am pretty excited about the itinerary I put together. I’ll be sure to post some stories on Instagram of our adventures! I’m taking off Monday for the holiday, see you back here on Tuesday. Have a wonderful weekend xo
