I needed some retail therapy this week and I feel like a new woman. We’re headed to The Sagamore Resort at the end of August to celebrate Kerry’s birthday and I’ve been thinking that it would be nice to wear something special for his celebration dinner. I got lucky at TJ Maxx and came home with two bags of clothes! Some may go back after I try them on again in the comfort of my home, but it felt sooooo good to walk out of the store with some pretty things.
While I was shopping, I surprised myself and bought something that is totally out of character for me. I have a devil-may-care attitude right now which might explain the purchase that I am wearing in these photos. I’m not exactly sure what to call this item of clothing. It’s a romper, but it has a skirt that wraps to the hips. Does anyone know? I’m all ears!
Whatever it is, it fit me and my wallet just right and I know that my husband will appreciate it. This is a “less is more” outfit. Simple black heels, red bangles and lipstick is all I am adding. The hair is the biggest question. Can’t decide to wear it up or down, that may be a game day call depending on the weather.
In the meantime, we are reluctantly preparing for the end of summer. If you have some time to hang out on the blog and want some back-to-school tips, click HERE and HERE to take you to a couple of my blog posts about saving on new clothes and the key features that a backpack should have. As I prepare for the start of the new year, one of the most important things for me is knowing exactly what my kiddos are eating in school. I’m so excited to partner with McKenzie Natural Artisan Deli to bring you ideas for healthy and delicious school lunches on the blog next week. Until then, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo
