Happy Friday! I can’t believe it is here. The last day of school was on Tuesday. You’d think that I’d want to move swiftly into summer celebrations, but I don’t feel like a vacation can really start until Monday. This has always been a weird week for me because I feel half-in and half-out of school. I’m counting on waking up on Monday without feeling like I have to hit the ground running by getting kids out of bed, packing school lunches and getting them out the door.
It is going to take me a few days to become adjusted to not thinking that I must be forgetting to do something. Jackson, on the other hand came home and dropped his backpack in the mudroom. I don’t expect he’ll touch it until August 30th. He knows how to let go.
The joys of living on the Connecticut Coast allowed us to usher in the first of summer with a trip to the beach. We set up the umbrella, chairs, towels and a cooler full of drinks and the adults promptly buried their toes into the hot sand while the kiddos raced to see who could get into the water first. If you plan to sink your toes in the sand and want a great beach book, click here for the 30 Must Read Books This Summer.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, see you back here on Monday xo
