| Let It Snow |
Happy Friday! Mark Twain is credited with this quote “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.” It was true when he was alive and it is true today. The temperature on Wednesday afternoon was in the 60’s and on Thursday morning we woke up to a snowstorm.
The Nutmeg State got transformed into a winter wonderland yesterday. The snow started in the wee hours of the morning and didn’t stop. Instead of the usual early morning text, we actually received an announcement on Wednesday evening that school would be closed. As soon as I told the kiddos, “snow day” mentality set in. Homework was ignored and we all stayed up later than normal because we knew we could sleep in the next morning. We did a whole lot of nothing. Basically we snuggled up, watched TV and played games. The only semi industrious thing we did was bake a cake. And I’m not sure that counts as work.
There is a 2-hour delay this morning, and after the kids get off to school I am packing. I’m headed to Massachusetts for what is becoming an annual girl’s escape with some besties. We have agreed that our priorities are eating, drinking, girl talk and relaxing. I’m counting the minutes! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend xo
