Happy Friday! I’m counting the days until next week when I can chill and spend time with family and friends. I’m not hosting Thanksgiving this year, but I signed up to bring dessert and side dishes. I’m making an apple cake with sweet goat cheese frosting and caramel sauce (should be interesting) and a traditional pumpkin pie. Side dishes are not my thing, so to make it easy and completely stress-free, I will be ordering a few sides from Balduccis’ Food Lover’s Market. Their Thanksgiving menu is crazy delicious.
For my CT readers, click here to see Balduccis’ Thanksgiving menu. You can place orders starting now, but to make sure that they have time to prepare something for you, it’s best to place your order no later than Monday, November 21st. They have an extensive Thanksgiving menu that made it so hard to choose from. After drooling over my keyboard I’ve finally settled on:
- Roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan & Herb Crust (roasted cauliflower topped with a parmesan and herb crust)
- Corn Casserole (with bacon, scallion & cheddar cheese)
- Haricot Verts with Butternut Squash (roasted butternut squash, grilled with red onion and pumpkin seed)
Tis the season! We’ve got a busy and very fun weekend that’s filled with holiday-themed events. Tomorrow, I’m attending the grand opening of POP! POP stands for Pop on Pequot, a pop-up holiday store located at 411 Pequot Avenue in Southport, CT. POP will showcase products from five vendors including Lattice House. Lattice House offers new and classic pieces for the home and garden; including elegant barware and accessories for men, and items for horse, dog and sailing enthusiasts. The store will also carry cashmere throws, fine jewelry and special one of a kind home goods from other companies. It should be your destination if you are looking for a unique gift for the person that has everything. Pop on Pequot Holiday hours: Wednesday through Sundays (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) from November 19th until December 23rd from 10:00am – 6:00pm.

| Dorie Greenspan |
On Sunday, I’m headed to NY for “Cookies and Conversion” with Dorie Greenspan. Dorie is credited with creating the recipe for World Peace Cookies. They are my all-time favorite cookie and even before I knew who Dorie was, I blogged about them. If you love chocolate cookies and want the recipe for World Peace Cookies, click here. I am so honored to be invited to attend this event and get baking tips from one of the leading experts in the business. If you are interested in attending, tickets are only $20.00 and can be purchased here.
