| Jackson at bat, you can barely make out the ball in the top right |
Happy Friday! The highlight this week was that my son’s hard work and dedication to the game of baseball resulted in a home run. Yay! It was a little bittersweet for me because I wasn’t at the game to see it. I attend almost every game, but had to miss this one to take Catherine to a birthday party. When I got the text from my friend and fellow baseball Mom, I immediately called the Team’s manager, which also happens to be his Dad. The first thing Kerry said to me was “Honey, it was a bomb.” I could hear the satisfaction in my husband’s voice, because in addition to 2-hour team practices, Kerry has been coaching Jackson one-on-one to help him get the mechanics of his swing down. Improving Jackson’s game is an investment that both father and son made together. I wish I could have seen their high-five at home plate, but there’ll be other days.
