Happy Friday! It’s been waaaaay too long since I posted my weekly series, Favorite Things. Today is June 1st and it’s time to get back in the groove.
If you have been wondering why the posts have been sporadic it is because I opened a floral design studio (freshflowerbar.com) on May 1st. My online (please notice the word online) launch date was March 20, the first day of spring, you can read about the big announcement HERE. My intention was to start small and gradually build my business. You know, like sane people do.
But, I got a totally unexpected opportunity to “pop up” inside a home goods and gift store called No. 299 in Fairfield, CT, and it felt like I was in a Home Depot commercial. All I heard was “Let’s do this.”
The next thing I knew, I had a ginormous logo on the wall and a floral cooler humming away in a 12×12 space. It became real, really quickly.
I am not too proud to admit that it has kicked my butt. My days start earlier because this little princess (who lounged in bed till 7am most mornings) has to shower, do her hair and makeup and look like a human for customers that come into the store. My “style me pretty” process has to be done before the kiddos are fed breakfast, before lunches are packed and before they get on the bus at 8:15am. So I’m basically up at 4am.
Once the bus arrives, I leave. I go to the floral wholesaler and buy armfuls of gorgeous flowers and then head to the studio to start my day. The logistics are going pretty much as I imagined, but I didn’t count on being so frigging exhausted after work. My nightly ritual of blogging has been pushed to the side in favor of sleep.
I’ve gotten emails from many readers letting me know that they miss my regular posts (I miss posting them too!). I appreciate hearing from you guys. I’m not sure how I am going to do it, but I am determined to do a better job at balancing my new business and continuing to blog on a weekly basis. I will probably not blog every day anymore, I’m thinking Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Thanks for hanging in there with me, and I hope you understand. Wishing you a wonderful weekend and see you back here on Monday! xo

| according to Chrissy, if you aren’t watching Ali Wong on Netflix, you’re messed up |
I follow Chrissy Teigen on Instagram and she posted about Ali Wong, a female comedian that I had not heard about before. Because Chrissy said to, I dropped everything and immediately watched Ali’s Netflix specials back to back. I was cringing at how vulgar she is, but I couldn’t stop laughing. At one point, my hand was literally covering my mouth, like “Whoa, you DID NOT just go there!” But she does.
