Happy Friday! Did you have a lovely Valentine’s Day? I hope so! It was a fun and busy week with celebrating 100 Days of School, a Galentine’s Night Out and a Valentine’s Day party for Catherine’s Kindergarten Class. As we head into the weekend, we are especially looking forward to this one. My kiddos have today and Monday off (yahoo!) and Kerry is working from home (taking a semi vaca). Gimme a virtual high-five for a 4-day weekend!
With Valentine’s Day falling in the middle of the week, I have to say that it didn’t feel all that special. Part of me wanted to do something, but the idea of going to a restaurant didn’t appeal to me either. So…on Saturday, we are hosting an intimate dinner party with a private chef from Table at Home. We’ll be able to really relax and unwind in the comfort of our home and get treated to a freshly prepared dinner at the same time. It’s a win-win!

If you haven’t heard about Table at Home, check out their website HERE. Table at Home is a new company that launched in D.C. and is expanding to New York and Connecticut. They connect people with professional chefs who will come to your home and prepare a meal. It’s designed to be an interactive experience with the chef preparing everything in front of you and your guests – all the while talking about the ingredients and how he/she is preparing them.
I’m going to blog about this experience net week (I’ll have photos by then) but in the meantime look at our menu! Chef Massimo is preparing two different meals to accommodate our individual preferences. Doesn’t it look amazing? I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day!
We can’t be more excited to meet our Chef. Chef Masimo was born in Italy and is a graduate of the Marco Polo Culinary Institute in Genoa, Italy. He has 30+ years experience as a chef, including stints at the Savoy Hotel in London, Louis XII in Monaco, Tre Merli bistro in NYC and Palio Restorante in Long island. His signature dish is fresh made pasta.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
Seriously, who can resist this face? There is still time to order Girl Scout cookies! If you are interested in buying Girl Scout cookies click HERE to order from Catherine. She has 35 boxes left to reach her goal of 120 boxes. They will be shipped directly to your home regardless of if you live in Connecticut or California! They are just as delicious as you remembered, I ate almost an entire sleeve of Thin Mints myself. These make a great gift, because they are only available once a year. I’ve had a few people order boxes to be shipped to family, especially college students. You can order them HERE.

More About Table at Home:
We believe that great experiences happen over food, and that few things are more authentic than a meal cooked in your own home.
Celebrities such as Jamie Oliver are showing us the incredible variety of dishes than can be cooked at home. And TV shows like Masterchef, as well as food blogs, are pushing amateurs to become amazing chefs.
This got us wondering:
How can those of us who are a little short on time experience a meal at home that is a little more authentic than a meal kit?
Where can chefs practice their passion if they don’t want to work the traditional 6 days a week in a restaurant or give up their day jobs?
Our solution is Table at Home. We have made it simple to organize a great personal chef to cook for you in your home. Whether it is for a nice dinner party, private cooking lessons or a regular family meal. Posting a request only takes minutes, and we have taken the guesswork out of choosing a chef with customer reviews and photos of chefs’ creations.
If you love the convenience of AirBnB and Uber, we think you will love the experience of using Table at Home.
Daniel and Sabin
thank you to Table at Home for gifting us this special meal!
