If you haven’t had a chance to decorate your home for fall and are looking for ideas, you have come to the right place. In today’s blog post, I will be sharing lots of fall decor inspiration to get you motivated. There are many spaces inside and outside your home that you can style with autumn-inspired decor.
We are in the first week of October and by this time, I’m sure that many of you have noticed that people are beginning to add curb appeal to their home with harvest-themed things pumpkins and mums. I drive the same route every day and I always notice the little touches that my neighbors are making to their home to embrace the new season.
This is a long post, so bring your tea or coffee and settle in for some serious eye candy! If you have followed my blog, it will come as no surprise when I tell you how much I LOVE this time of year. It’s true, I’m #kindaobsessed. There are so many wonderful activities to do when the cooler temperatures arrive. For starters, here is a link to my Ultimate Fall Bucket List. It encapsulates a few of things that my family and I look forward to doing. Decorating your home for fall is definitely on that list, and since there are many areas that you can add fall elements, I broke them down into these key spaces and have included photos of each area to give you ideas:
- Front Door Decor / Front Porch
- Outdoor spaces / Patios
- Fireplace Mantels
- Dining Room
I’ve also curated a fabulous collection of images from my Fall Decor Pinterest Board that I am linking for you today. Each link will open a new window in your browser, so feel free to click on the links as you will easily be able to get back HERE to read the rest. Let’s get to it!
Fall Decor Inspiration
Front Door Decor / Front Porch – When it comes time to decorate in autumn, I like to start with our home’s curb appeal. Click HERE to see a previous post of what I did to brighten our front step. Bringing instant curb appeal to your house is quick and easy by simply adorning it with newly refreshed planters, pumpkins and lanterns. Your outdoor planters can be filled with a single large mum or filled with a variety of plants that do well in cooler weather. If you are feeling ambitious, you can update your planters yourself, or take them to a local nursery/landscaping company and have them do it for you. If you live in Fairfield County, CT I recommend Outdoor Design and Living located at 1301 Bronson Road in Fairfield, CT. This is also the space where my floral studio, fresh flower bar is located. I know that I am biased, but their reviews say it all. Here are links to other posts I published on Fall Front Doors.

Outdoor Spaces / Patios – Turning our attention to the back of your house, I’ve included photos of ways that you can create cozy fall-inspired spaces for you and your family to enjoy.

Fireplace Mantels – Hard on the heels of decorating our front door, fireplaces comes in a close second! It is so impactful to walk into a room and see a beautifully decorated fireplace mantel. Here is a link to blog posts of One Mantel, Two Ways that I did with my sister several years ago: Mantel Decorating Ideas: Part One and Mantel Decorating Ideas: Part Two. One is very bright with traditional autumn hues of reds, oranges and yellows and the other is more shabby chic with softer colors of green, pink and white. The photos are darker than I would do now, but I was just starting out as a new blogger.
