Happy Friday! I’m brimming with excitement today. We are headed to The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze this afternoon and I can’t wait to experience it for the first time. It is obviously a popular place since tickets are sold out and get this, a couple got engaged there earlier this week! The groom-to-be had a pumpkin carved with “Will you marry me Jenna?” Adorable! On Saturday night, a group of girlfriends are getting together to celebrate a birthday (I can’t share details because the birthday girl reads my blog and we have a few surprises planned). Next week is Halloween week and I am going to be in the kitchen for most of the time. I have lots of fun Halloween-themed treats planned like s’mores witches’ hats, candy corn cake, and poisonous apples. We’ll round out the week on Friday with my favorite boozy fall cocktail. In the meantime, I wanted to share how I updated our Connecticut home’s curb appeal by adding fall elements. Have a wonderful weekend.
Jack Frost paid a visit and it was time to remove the ferns in the front and replace them with two mums in a vibrant plum color.
I decided to “go big” this fall with enormous mums for our front step. I also got enough supplies to decorate our window box so everything would coordinate. For the window box, I used mums in the same color, decorative kale, English ivy and white pumpkins.
There was a lot to get into that window box. The pumpkins were on the small side and I wanted them to be visible from the road, so I took two empty plant pots, inverted them in the window box and placed the pumpkins on top to raise them.
