Eggshell Vases
Just in time for Easter weekend, here is a roundup of some eggshell vases that can be used as a place setting at your Easter table or simply for decoration. The key is to use petite flowers that are available now that spring has arrived. My favorite small flowers this time of year are violets, pansies, snowdrops, crocus, grape hyacinth and lily of the valley. To assemble these eggshell vases, carefully remove the top of an egg (I use the tip of a knife) and pour out the yolk and white. Rinse the inside of the egg with water and discard the water. Using a spoon, add some dirt and then put in the flowers. You can top it off with more dirt to stabilize the flower and then cover the dirt with green moss, being careful to pack it around the flowers. Once you are finished, add some water to keep the flowers fresh.
