Gifts for the traveling man

Gifts for the Traveling Man<chocolate cookies and milk image>

You may be wondering what milk and cookies has to do with a traveling man. Here’s the story. Today is my husband’s birthday (Happy Birthday honey!) and instead of a traditional birthday cake, he got his favorite chocolate chip cookies. The recipe that I like to use is from The Joy of Cooking, although the one from Ghirardelli is a strong contender. I like surprising him with something unexpected because he is the type of person that when it comes to getting a gift, he loves to guess what’s inside a gift wrapped box. He’ll hold the box, test the weight, shake it from side to side and much to my irritation, he’s very accurate at figuring out what it is…regardless of how creative I have been. Argh! This year, I do think I genuinely surprised him with a jean jacket to replace one that he left in an airport taxi while we were on vacation. He’s not one to drop hints, but I know that he really missed it because the smile I got when he opened the box was priceless.

We celebrated his birthday over the weekend because he left bright and early this morning for a business trip. In addition to the jean jacket, we gave him a new travel pouch from Mark and Graham. I came across Mark and Graham’s travel accessories in a classic herringbone design defined by an interlocking pattern of chevron stripes that looks so masculine in this fabric. It reminds me of Connecticut preppy but modern for your jetsetting man. If the special man in your life travels a lot or a little, here is a roundup of great gifts that makes the travel more enjoyable – and definitely more chic. Check out their entire website, it is chock-full of fabulous gifts for everyone #includingyou
