BirchBox - Connecticut in Style

I signed up for Birchbox recently and I have to say that I am loving all the beauty samples! You’ve probably heard of Birchbox, but in case you haven’t, here is the low down. When you subscribe ($10/month or $110/year) you will get monthly deliveries of personalized beauty and grooming samples, completely tailored to your profile. When I filled out my profile, they asked about my skin type, hair and eye color and what type of samples I was most interested in. They customize the samples based on your preferences so I asked for less perfumes and more hair products. These samples are perfect for me because I get to test up-and-coming lines and there is enough in each sample to give me a real sense of how it works for me. They offer boxes for women and men and also have an extensive on-line store of full-size products.

They have a flagship store in SoHo, Manhattan where you can “build your own” box and make an appointment for a service. It features a TRY BAR where you can test-drive new beauty trends on the spot. I’m super excited about getting expert advice on new makeup tips. It sounds like the perfect girl’s day out in the city coupled with lunch. As for the restaurant, I’m going to rely on Refinery 29 for their reviews of the 17 Restaurants In Soho We Can’t Live Without to help me make a choice.

I received my first Birchbox in March and the packaging was fine. But I was blown away when I opened up the box for this month. It’s simply gorgeous. They teamed up with Rifle Paper Company and created one of the prettiest boxes ever. I’m going to save the box and use it to store emergency cash (aka pizza delivery money).
