When our friends celebrate Hanukkah, which begins on December 12th this year, it’s important to me to give them gifts that are both meaningful and beautiful. However, it’s been a little nerve-wracking in the gift giving department for me. I don’t know a lot about the Festival of Lights and what’s considered an appropriate gift. I’m assuming that every household that celebrates Hanukkah has a menorah, but is it okay to have two? What happens after Hanukkah, do the decorations stay out or is everything stored in the attic?
I am filled with more questions than answers about where to buy gifts for my Jewish friends who will decorating their homes in less than a month. I’m definitely a non-expert and needed a place to turn for some guidance and inspiration. I also wanted the option of giving home decor that was modern and chic that could be used throughout the year and not packed away.
After being introduced to the peace. love. light. shop, I realized that I don’t have to be an expert in selecting the ideal gifts, because they have already done it for me. The on-line store is filled with handcrafted decor that is incredibly stylish. I no longer feel nervous because I know that my friends are going to love whatever I pick for them. In addition, many of the items are made to order and I’m feeling very confident that I will be giving them something that they don’t already have.
Even though this is an online store that ships anywhere in the U.S.A., my Connecticut followers will be thrilled to know that this shop was founded by two Moms from Connecticut! Lisa and Amanda are friends, turned business partners. Lisa has a background in interior design and Amanda has experience in arts and publishing. “Local is the new black” and I hope that you share my belief of the importance of supporting local businesses.
Scroll down to browse some hand-picked items from the shop. There’s a lot more to see online by clicking HERE. If anything catches your eye, take advantage of the sale! As an added bonus, you can get 10% off everything in the store by using code: SALE4SEASON. After the holidays, Peace.Light.Love will be introducing new product (not just for Hanukkah) so come back and check them out again!
Best Hanukkah Gifts for the Home
Peace. Love. Light. These are qualities that infuse the Jewish home and table, particularly at the holidays. I was delighted to discover this unique online boutique and its offerings: beautiful housewares and elegant decorations which embody the very spirit and sparkle worthy of the Festival of Lights. Here you will find stylish menorahs which merge both classic and modern elements in their sleek design. Colorful pillow covers in patterns of brilliant blue, or soft ecru-colored ones decorated with Hanukkah symbols and phrases will add life to any living room at holiday time. They carry swags and garlands to be draped from mantles and partnered with color coordinated signs and wall decor. Each proclaiming all manner of good wishes and celebratory sentiments.
Below is a roundup of some of their best sellers and my favorite gift ideas:
The “Bright Star” votive holders are at the top of my list and something that I would love to have in my own home. The star shape is timeless and festive and the mercury glass finish makes the candlelight sparkle.
The shop recently added this modern menorah in brass (it comes in nickel finish as well). I love how streamlined it is. A menorah would be the ideal gift for an engaged or newlywed couple.
You guys know how much I enjoy decorating our fireplace for the holidays. I love all the garlands, especially the pom poms and the tassels. Look closely at the Paper Stars garland (below), it consists of multiple types of different patterned paper that make the design so interesting.
Lastly, if your friend loves Farmhouse Style decor, the Chalkboard Menorah Sign will be the perfect hostess gift. Kiddos will love “drawing” on the candle flames with chalk, and it’s perfectly safe for little fingers.

Peace. Love. Light. was founded by two friends and business partners, Lisa and Amanda, combining their love for family traditions and holidays with their appreciation for beautiful home decor. The idea for Peace. Love. Light. came about when Lisa noticed a lack of elegant Hanukkah decor on the market, and Amanda completely agreed. At a time of year when so many homes sparkle with festive lights and decorations, Amanda and Lisa were struggling to find suitable items to showcase the wonder of Hanukkah. The two friends developed the business together, working with talented artists who shared their vision.
