Hi guys, I’m back! I took a couple of weeks off from my usual daily blogging, although I did sneak in a post or two. I’m surprised at how much I missed my evening ritual of settling into my office chair, reviewing and editing photos and writing. I didn’t take any time off from taking photos though. My poor Mac is choking with almost 20,000 photos and it is really dragging. Maybe Santa will bring me a new computer for Christmas. I’ve been so good this year.
Even though my Mac is complaining, the good news is that I have a lot of great content to share over the next 6 weeks. Starting in mid-September until Halloween, Connecticut in Style’s editorial calendar is already stacked. Yay! This week, the theme is all about the end of summer. So please come back every day to see all the pretty photos as we look back – and forward to hugging this season good-bye!
I have a lot of new readers to welcome to the blog (thank you for signing up!) and since I can’t open my house to meet you personally, I want to give you a little glimpse into home. Our master bedroom is probably my favorite space in our home. It’s light and airy and the color palette is so serene. I love going to bed at night and waking up in this room, it is my haven.
Many years after the renovation, I’m still looking for a large rug to put under the bed. I’m also debating about whether or not to create a sitting area with a chaise and side table (for reading) or a vanity table (for hair and makeup) for the other side of the room. Once I decide, I’ll be sure to share the before and afters!
The inspo for this shoot was the gorgeous limelight hydrangea from my neighbor’s Christine’s garden. She generously let me take as many as I wanted and I practically filled my kitchen sink. The color and texture were a perfect match for the bedroom, so I snapped some pictures to share. Welcome to my boudoir. Oh and P.S. it is never this tidy, I stuffed about half the contents of the room into the hallway.

A few details about the room. The paint color is BM Antique White, the fabric for the roman shades, drapes and Euro Shams is Citysquare Mistymorn, the round mirror above the bed I purchased at Home Goods, but a similar one is here, the upholstered king-size headboard is from Wayfair, and the bench at the end of the bed also from Home Goods. I love the acrylic legs.
