Over the past 20 years, ROOMS with a VIEW has raised more than $1,500,000 for the ministry and mission of our church. This high-end interior design show was created by the late Dean of American Design, Albert Hadley. The show features 12 vignettes of interior design. This year’s theme is “JOY to the WORLD.” You can also visit over 30 artisan vendors at “The Shops” and indulge in yummy homemade food at the Cafe. Both are in the Marketplace. Southport Congregational Church is excited to invite you to be a part of our 23rd annual ROOMS with a VIEW gala event that will take place November 10-12, 2017. Through this fundraiser we have raised over $1.5 million for the works of Southport Congregational and our support of charities throughout Fairfield County. ROOMS with a VIEW is an extraordinary and unique event that is attended by over 3,000 people from the Metro NY & Connecticut areas.
This year, we are proud to have two national sponsors: Farrow & Ball as our paint and wall covering sponsor and Circa Lighting. Proceeds from ROOMS with a VIEW help support the ministries and missions of Southport Congregational Church, particularly for 13 charities within the Greater Bridgeport area including, but not limited to: Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Lifebridge Community Services, Operation Hope, Homes for the Brave, Alpha Home, Emerge, Hang Time, The Center For Family Justice, Mercy Learning Center, The Kennedy Center and Burroughs Community Center.
This year’s theme “Joy To The World” will have 12 prominent interior designers showcasing their skills in designing a room that is American Chic. Our 2017 class of designers is as amazing as ever and includes John Douglas Eason – John Douglas Eason Interiors, Raymond Forehand and Christina Lake – Forehand + Lake Interior Design, Krista Fox – Krista Fox Interiors, Travis Grimm – Travis Grimm Interiors, Liliane Hart – Liliane Hart Interiors, Amy Hirsch – Amy Aidinis Hirsch Interior Design,LLC, Tori McBrien & Keri McKay – McBrien Interiors and Keri McKay Interiors, Laura Michaels – Laura Michaels Design, Julie Owen & Anthony Pippo – Cocobolo Interiors, Robert Passal – Putnam & Mason, Grace Rosenstein – Grace Rosenstein Inc., Kellie Sirignano & Franklin Salasky, Kellie Franklin. In addition, our Narthex Design, which serves as the entrance to the show, will be by Geoffrey Walsky of Modern Iconic Home and our Chapel Design is by Parker Rogers, Parker & Company.
ROOMS with a VIEW is open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a Gala event, sponsored by CT Homes & Gardens, on Friday, November 10th. In addition to the talented designers, there is a retail space “The SHOPS at ROOMS with a VIEW” that is filled with more than 30 artisans who are selling their unique items, a Café, a Luncheon by Festivities that has the Broadway theme of “Lunch at Sardis” and during that luncheon, which is sponsored by Serendipity magazine, Broadway singers Susan Terry and Frank Root will perform, along with Broadway voice coach Phillip Bettencourt and rising Broadway talent, Abby Root and Ben Mulgrew.
On Saturday night there is a Champagne Tour of the vignettes hosted by Kyle Hoepner, Editor of New England Home magazine and event sponsor, followed by a dinner created by Robert Patchen, owner and chef of Paci Restaurant in Southport. In addition, Sal Gillbertie will be hosting a Topiary Workshop for people to try their hand at plant design and for the kids, a Gingerbread House Workshop on Sunday.
