Cutest Halloween Rice Krispies Treat!

top-view

These little Rice Krispie pumpkins are so CHARMING! They are super easy to make, it took me less than 30 minutes and I love how they turned out. I made one small batch using a 10 ounce bag of mini marshmallows, half of a stick of sweet butter, two cups of Rice Krispies cereal, about 6 drops of orange food coloring, Rolos candy (for the stem) and green M&Ms (for the leaf). Step-by-step photos, instructions and recipe follows.

IMPORTANT TIPS:

  1. I found this idea on Pinterest and after doing a little research and reading about all the problems other “bakers” were having with the rice krispies sticking to their hands – I decided to use an ice cream scoop to form the balls.
  2. After you form the balls, insert one Rolo into the center and add one green M&M before the Rice Krispie cools. One of the advantages of pushing the Rolo into the ball is that it flattens the ball and makes it look more like a real Cinderella pumpkin!
